Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. She began her Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of famous directors and actors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford has been engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who produced Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. She starred in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford is from the city of Denver native who now divides his time between Los Angeles.
